The Chief HSSEQ Officer will direct areas of safety, occupational health, security, environment, quality and lean management to achieve the organization strategic roles.
Job Description:
HSE :
Ensure and provide value in development of the HSE strategy in line with the Company strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across plant
- Direct and coach HSE team to have a proactive health and safety plan and world class practices are in place to achieve zero incident target.
- Ensure that HSE strategic goals and KPIs are met.
Quality and Qatalum Production System (Lean Management) :
Provides leadership and mentoring to Qatalum Production team to ensure that organization uses and practice Lean methodology and tools (VSM, 5S, Kaizen etc.). Lead the process to inculcate lean culture in the Qatalum for business value.
- Coach and mentor reports on how best to advance Lean and drive continuous improvement with meaningful results
- Provide mentorship to key personnel in developing a culture lean(QPS) throughout the organization.
- Identify ideas with other functional leaders, employees, and customers to create opportunities for process improvement throughout the organization.
Environment & Sustainability:
Act as a subject matter expert to assist Management of the company to ensure that the company effectively produces environment sustainable aluminum (green aluminum) by utilizing relevant tools and technology. Provide knowledge and understanding of regulatory and market requirements and sustainability best practices in the Aluminium industry and its associated supply chain.
- Provide leadership to determine the best applicable to the company and take lead and guide to achieve sustainability certification from bodies like World Resources Institute (WRI), World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), World Economic Forum (WEF), Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI), International Aluminum Institute (IAI), London Metal Exchange
- Provide value in designing and Implementing initiatives of biodiversity, renewable energy and green technology to achieve Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction
- Network with sustainability practitioners, professionals, consultants, government agencies and regulatory bodies to stay updated with new developments in sustainability-related policies, best practices and technology.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters Degree within environment science, engineering, environmental management or related subject
Minimum Experience:
- 20 years of experience in HSSE and Quality. At least three years experience is in environment and sustainability leadership role (carbon Management, Green House gases emission etc.) with primary aluminum
- Excellent track record of developing and implementing effective sustainability strategies for a producer/smelter.
- Knowledge and experience on Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and programs
- Substantive portfolio related to science-based project study and development in field of environment and sustainability
- Knowledge policy management, Climate Change Risk, Corporate Social Responsibility, Biodiversity, Transparency & Disclosure, Responsible Sourcing, Emissions, effluents and waste, water stewardship, Human Rights and Labor Rights practices
