Job Objectives:
To plan, coordinate and direct all technical and process relevant activities in the Extrusion Ingot production lines in order to meet the objectives in terms of scrap recycling, technical and process efficiencies, product quality, cost and customer expectations.
Job Description:
- Perform routine monitoring of production and environmental processes, investigating special causes of process variation and setting appropriate actions to correct these variations.
- Evaluate actions, adjustment of operational parameters in order to determine their impact on the overall production processes.
- Check reported data in order to check its validity fit for purpose for use in process development.
- Monitor process deviations and make sure that measures are taken and followed up to secure that the processes are in control.
- Ensure an optimised usage of pre/ post consumed scrap to secure margin optimisation and lowest possible CO2 footprint
- Authorize and approve product specifications, production parameters and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to product quality in order to increase process efficiencies.
- Organize and conduct training courses in process engineering to improve understanding and effectiveness of staff.
- Handle customer interaction in cooperation and guidance from Hydro’s technical support team and Qatalum technical Customer Service/Marketing departments in order to effectively fulfill customer requirements.
- Ensure claims and complaints processing is completed in conjunction with Hydro’s CTS and Qatalum CTS/Marketing department in order to ensure any customer issues are resolved in an efficient and timely manner.
- Communicate, implement and document of process changes and improvements in compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 standards and BPS.
- Support the development and training of National employees.
- Provide input and recommend the continuous improvement of the company practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
- Comply with all agreed occupational health, safety and environmental regulations in order to protect personnel and physical assets. Ensure that the work areas are kept in a clean and tidy state in order that work can be carried out safely and effectively.
- Generate or assist in generation of any departmental reports are prepared as per management request, in a timely and accurate manner to meet company and department requirements governing reporting.
- Follow up of all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Minimum Qualification Required
- Bachelor degree in relevant Engineering field
Required experience
- 6-8 years experience in the Aluminium industry preferably in Casthouse
- 1-2 years Supervisory experience
