Job Objectives:
To be the financial controller for the assigned area and undertake all day-to-day and periodic activities related to budgeting and forecasting, cost controlling, management reporting, financial analysis, mass balancing and inventory valuation.
Job Description:
- Prepare and recommend budgets and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
- Develop of long-range financial forecasts and related budgets, perform variance analysis to compare budgeted figures to forecasts (profitability analysis) and consider alternative scenarios and economic prospects as appropriate to ensure accurate forecasting is achieved.
- Support the capital planning and capital approval process in order to assist senior management in their decision making processes.
- Monitor and control OPEX costs in the Group’s cost centers and report on actual costs versus budgets, highlighting any discrepancies.
- Monitor and control CAPEX costs of projects within the Group.
- Assist the Group Manager with getting OPEX and CAPEX approvals and ensure cost containers are set up in SAP, e.g., PRs/POs, CEP, WBS etc.
- Monitor and control consumption and inventories of raw materials and spare parts.
- Ensure inventory and consumption levels in IT systems are reconciled with physical verification and measurements/counts.
- Ensure the output from the production process is reconciled with Qatalum’s IT systems and other information sources (e.g., warehouse reports).
- Develop and implement key financial indicators to ensure that the group is working towards a common set of objectives and goals.
- Maintain accurate records of production and maintenance financial activities for use in review and planning.
- Develop and implement communication and training packages to ensure personnel are aware of and understand financial KPI’s and the Valued Based Management Principles.
- Follow of all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Generate or assist in generation of any departmental reports are prepared as per management request, in a timely and accurate manner to meet company and department requirements governing reporting.
- Provide timely and accurate financial data to the department’s Management team and accounts department through scheduled meetings, reports and presentations in order to keep them informed.
- Comply with all agreed occupational health, safety and environmental regulations in order to protect personnel and physical assets. Ensure that the work areas are kept in a clean and tidy state in order that work can be carried out safely and effectively.
- Provide input and recommend the continuous improvement of the company practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
- Support the development and training of National employees.

Minimum Qualification Required
- University degree in accounting or finance
- Qualified accountant
Required experience
- 6 - 8 years’ controlling experience
- 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Significant experience from a manufacturing business.
- Solid SAP FI-CO experience.
- Advanced user of Excel and other MS Office packages.
