Job Objectives:
To provide Fire Systems support to maintenance and operations groups in Qatalum.
Job Description:
- Develop and review Asset Management Strategies for all Fire Systems of the plant.
- Develop, implement and review of operating procedures and maintenance plans.
- Ensure Fire Systems technical support to Operations and Maintenance groups.
- Support Fire Systems improvement projects.
- Execute engineering and risk reviews leading to a continuous improvement process with identification, planning and preparation of identified projects.
- Oversee the investigation of technical incidents as required, focusing on long term improvement of plant refinement of preventive maintenance and operational procedures.
- Oversee warranty issues management and follow-ups.
- Prepare, execute and follow-up of Fire Systems maintenance and operational activities as applicable in coordination with the production/maintenance units on daily basis.
- Handle work orders SAP PM according to defined work processes.
- Responsible for work order execution using internal/external services.
- Repair of machines/equipment
- Ensure skilled personnel by developing/follow-up of training plan for the assigned section.
- General Engineering support for Electrical, Instrumentation & Fire Systems
- Support the development and training of National employees.
- Provide input and recommend the continuous improvement of the company practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
- Comply with all agreed occupational health, safety and environmental regulations in order to protect personnel and physical assets. Ensure that the work areas are kept in a clean and tidy state in order that work can be carried out safely and effectively.
- Generate or assist in generation of any departmental reports are prepared as per management request, in a timely and accurate manner to meet company and department requirements governing reporting.
- Follow of all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Minimum Qualifications Required
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, preferably focused on Instrument/Electrical Engineering and programming
Minimum Experience Required
- 4 years experience in similar position, preferably in Aluminium industry
- 2 years Management/ Supervisory experience\
- Thorough knowledge of understanding of design and operation of all equipment related to Fire systems. Preferably specific and related to systems used within Qatalum (example: Simplex Grinnel 4100U & 4100ES Control System; Ansul R-105 wet chemical release control system; Ansul Autopulse Z-10 agent release control system; Minimax FMZ 5000 control system; Minimax Argon System; Fike 10-063 series protection system; Gas Detector (MSA, Honeywell, Crowcon, Scott, Dragger, OldHam); Siemens System 3 model CP 35 Control unit; Simplex VESDA VEP, VLS, VLC, VLF, VLP Units; Siemens FS 250 control panel and similar)
