Job Objectives:
Lead the Project portfolio of the Mechanical and Civil disciplines in the Engineering and Projects department in accordance with the Company's Policies, Procedures, and Processes.
Job Description:
- Ensure optimal coordination and communication among key players (Project Engineers, Discipline Leads, and Owner Representatives) for Projects and Modifications.
- Monitor and control Projects with Project Managers, focusing on Time, Cost, Scope, and Quality to anticipate challenges.
- Utilize resources and best practices for safe, cost-effective, and reliable production facilities.
- Assist project engineers and supervisors in managing contracts to protect Qatalum's interests and maximize cost efficiencies without compromising quality.
- Manage Frame Agreement Contracts and Procurement coordination per procedures.
- Provide administrative support to Engineering and Projects departmental functions.
- Ensure Engineering Design, Procurement, and Construction comply with contractual requirements and specifications.
- Support the development and training of National employees.
- Provide input and recommend continuous improvement of company practices, taking into account' international best practices,' changes in international standards, and changes in the business environment that demand proactive action plans.
- Comply with all agreed occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations in order to protect personnel and physical assets. Ensure that the work areas are kept clean and tidy state in order that work can be carried out safely and effectively.
- Generate or assist in generating any departmental reports prepared as per Management request in a timely and accurate manner to meet company and department requirements governing reporting.
- Follow all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Minimum Qualification Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Civil Engineering
- Project Management certification
Required experience - 10 years experience in Mechanical / Civil Engineering
- Preferably with experience in the Aluminium/Smelter industry
- 4 years experience in project management with PMP certification
Job Specific Skills - Comprehensive knowledge of design requirements, international codes, and standards.
- Extensive understanding of technical statutory regulations and requirements.
- Proficient in quality and environmental systems (ISO 9001/14001, TS 16949, OHAS 18001, IATF).
- Expertise in project management systems.
- Thorough knowledge of technical documentation, execution, and approval processes.
- Proficient in practically applying engineering principles, techniques, and technology for design and production.
- Knowledgeable in business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, HR modeling, leadership, and coordination of people and resources.
- Familiar with principles and processes for delivering customer and personal services, including needs assessment, quality standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation.
- Adept in active learning to understand new information's implications for solving current and future problems and making decisions.
- Skilled in coordination, time management, and organizational practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective teamwork capabilities.
- Fluent in English.
