Job Description


Job Objective:

We are looking for an expert-level Electronic Board Repair Technician with deep expertise in diagnosing and repairing faults on complex microprocessor-based PCBs. The role requires an in-depth understanding of embedded systems, digital electronics, memory interfaces, and advanced rework techniques for high-density boards. This technician will support production, R&D, and field return analysis through detailed fault isolation and resolution at the component level.

Job Description:

Diagnostics & Repair:

  • Perform advanced fault diagnosis on microprocessor-based electronic boards using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit testers.
  • Identify failures in microprocessor circuits, including memory subsystems, power rails, crystal oscillators, and clock distribution.
  • Conduct component-level troubleshooting and repair, including BGA components.
  • Experience in Recover and reprogram firmware
  • Perform soldering and rework with high precision.


Testing & Validation:

  • Run post-repair functional and regression tests to ensure full board recovery.
  • Use custom test jigs or emulators to simulate real-world conditions for board verification.
  • Collaborate with teams (Apics/process/Maint/Production) to assist in debugging hardware/software interface issues.


Documentation & Quality:

  • Document detailed repair processes, including root cause analysis, replaced components, and test outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate repair logs in compliance with ISO/IPC standards and internal quality systems.
  • Support reliability improvement initiatives by identifying design weaknesses or recurring field failures.


Collaboration & Technical Support:

  • Act as a technical expert and provide knowledge sharing with technicians.
  • Work closely with teams to feedback on hardware failures and suggest process for repair improvements.
  • Support reverse engineering efforts when required for obsolete or undocumented hardware.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field.


Minimum Experience Required:

  • 8+ years of hands-on repair of microprocessor-based electronics at the component level.


Job Specific Skills:

  • Proven expertise with rework, JTAG debugging, and memory interface diagnostics.
  • Strong knowledge of digital logic, embedded system architecture, and power electronics.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex circuit diagrams, PCB layouts, and datasheets.
  • IPC-7711/21 certification (Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies).
  • Experience with firmware debugging tools
  • Familiarity with embedded platforms
  • Experience with failure analysis techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
  • High level of precision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple repair cases.
