Potential summer interns visit Qatalum

​Qatalum extends a welcome for all students interested in the aluminium academic process and future employment potential within Qatar's aluminium industry.

On the 14 May, 2014, two Qatar University and two NTNU (Norway) students visited Qatalum together with their respective professors. The main intension was mutual collaboration between the two Universities to provide an international perspective to the individual student's learning and development process. Additionally these visits facilitate the enrolment of summer intern as many students are eager to complete their assignments and projects with Qatalum.

The students were welcomed and introduced to Qatalum by Dr. Roar Orsund, Cast House Group Manager. Research and Development projects were presented to the students by Dr. Anton Winkelmann and Dr. Are Dyroy. The Qatalum Summer Internship Programme was introduced to them by Amir Farah Acting Qatarisation and Development Manager.

Jassim Al-Mejali, Reduction Process Engineer at Qatalum and Master's student at Qatar University was a great source of information for the students all through the visit.

The visit was planned and organized by Sharat Kumar, Training and Development Supervisor. The Students were introduced to the Reduction process by Edward Wyk and the Cast House process by Simon Flower.

Elin Legland, the Hydro QSTP Administration Manager who represented the Hydro perspective said, "Some of the students will carry out research this summer at Qatalum, and we hope they will find Qatalum interesting and a possible future place of employment which takes great pride in environmental and corporate responsibilities.
